“ This used to be like home to us: a place to spend Sunday afternoons nourished by music, ideas, old and new acquaintances and chef Erick's inspiring lunches, but Berkeley is relentlessly pushing out its tradition and culture, and the writing is on the wall. Sundays and live music being a thing of the past, we dropped in to see just how much the place still has to offer. My conclusion is that as long as Erick stays on it will still be one of the best (and busiest!) lunch spots in town, but otherwise it's become just another crowded, noisy student hangout: Step right up, get your order in, eat your meal and get out of Dodge. Next...? Everybody was either a stranger or too busy to notice a hello. It was like attending a memorial: the excellent meal came with a complimentary dessert: a sense of closure. We'll probably drop in for the food when we're in town and parking allows, but the thrill, alas, is gone. ”

They mainly offer basic drinks and sandwiches. I ordered the soup of the day since I can't have cheese, and it was delicious and creamy! The staff is pretty friendly, and I'd come back. If anything, the one thing I wish they had more of are outlets, but the space is nice to bring any non-electronic tasks like readings for class. ”
